The 2014 Act came into effect in July 2014. It introduced new principles to support people experiencing mental illness to make and participate in treatment decision (shared decision making) and to have their views and preferences considered and respected.

Borderline Personality Disorder: Expression, Impact and Treatment across Life Stages. Human Personality undergoes continuous development and modification in response to maturation and environmental factors.
Contemporary research recognises that Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) changes across the life stages.This conference will consider the prevention, diagnosis, early intervention and treatments across life stages, with eminent speakers presenting on BPD from childhood, through adolescence and adulthood to older age. Three concurrent workshops have also been planned for the afternoon.
