The 2014 Act came into effect in July 2014. It introduced new principles to support people experiencing mental illness to make and participate in treatment decision (shared decision making) and to have their views and preferences considered and respected.

There is an urgent need to understand the impacts of COVID-19 on the mental health of Australians.
The Centre for Mental Health at Swinburne University is conducting an urgent survey on the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health of Australians. We are looking for 50,000 people living in Australia who are over 18yo to participate. Please click on the click here for more information and to participate in the anonymous 15-minute survey. The survey will be open for 48 hours from the 1st of every month from 9am (closing on the 3rd at 8:59am).
