The 2014 Act came into effect in July 2014. It introduced new principles to support people experiencing mental illness to make and participate in treatment decision (shared decision making) and to have their views and preferences considered and respected.
Writing reports for Tribunal hearings
The Mental Health Tribunal has developed a new MHT3 Report on Compulsory Treatment which will replace the current version from 1 February 2021. This is a short course on writing reports for Tribunal hearings. This course is for psychiatrists, registrars, and treating teams.
To support implementation, they have produced some training videos which you are required to watch on the MHT website where you will find two videos, a Quick Reference guide, and fictional example pdfs and several other useful links.
